Democracy Café platform, funded by Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) aims to inform and engage the youth in socio-political issues and mentor young people in preparation for the upcoming local council elections in 2017, presidential elections in 2018 and the general elections in 2019. The purpose of this activity to engage youth into making an informed decision when voting. In addition to this we wish to provide a space for youth groups to organise themselves and engage in social, political dialogue where MDN can contribute to building their capacity as agents of change. The primary focus of this initiative is on the importance of inclusive, free and fair elections and the involvement of the youth in this process. The youth will engage in discussions of democratic values, fundamental rights, civic duties and various social issues.
